La Chapelle de Meyney Saint- Estèphe 2014 - This Bordeaux Saint-Estèphe style red is an elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon comprising half. An exceptional wine, deep ruby in color, offers aromas of black berries, licorice, brioche buns and sweet spices, rich fruit on the palate, with supple black-currant flavors, lively tannins and a dry core. The wine ready to drink, at its best from 2020.
Food Pairing - Pairs well with poultry, grilled meats and aged cheeses.
About - Chapelle de Meyney ("the Chapel of Meyney") is the second wine of Chateau Meyney, one of the oldest estates in the Medoc of Bordeaux. St. Estephe soils are rich in gravel like all of the best sites of the Haut Medoc but here the formation of gravel over clay creates a cooler atmosphere for its vines compared to those in the villages farther downstream. This results in delayed ripening and wines with higher acidity compared to the other villages.
