Domaine de La Noblaie Chante le Vent Chinon 2017 - A waxy, floral masterpiece from 50 year old vines grown on tuffeau soils, this Chenin Blanc's nose is dominated by multifaceted fruit aromas, including orange citrus, peach skin, tangerine, kumquat, mango and pear, in harmonious balance with the vibrancy of the minerally, quartzy-limestone lift. The palate is equally fruit rich, with vibrant and chalky citrus, stone fruit, and river pebbles that bring about an engaging and textural experience. Harvested by hand, pressed and fermented by indigenous yeast in tank, the 2017 Chinon Blanc Chante le Vent is known for it's concentration and character. Certified organic, it's aged in tank for 4 months, and sees no oak integration.
Food Pairing - Rich fish (salmon, tuna etc), vegetarian dishes, poultry, mild and soft cheese.
About - This 2017 vintage cuvée goes by the name Chante le Vent – in recognition of the alternately warm and cooling winds that allow the winemaker to harvest his Chenin late in the season without any botrytis, known as noble rot.
